FAMB Goes to Tallahassee
On Tuesday March 11, 2008, the Florida Association of Mortgage Brokers met with
Florida Governor Charlie Crist as part of their Tallahassee Lobby Days. In addition,
FAMB leadership had the privilege of meeting with State Senator Bill Posey and
State Represenative Marco Rubio. This event also featured a tent on the capitol
grounds showcasing Florida's mortgage broker and their importance in the homebuying
process as well as numerous visits by chapter members to their local legislators.

Florida Association of Mortgage Brokers Offers Consumers Tips on Refinancing

Tallahassee, FL – February 21, 2008 – The downturn in the housing market
has led the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates to their lowest point in recent
history. Before taking advantage of the current mortgage rates the Florida Association
of Mortgage Brokers (FAMB) recommends that consumers meet with a licensed mortgage
professional to discuss how they might benefit from refinancing.

Governor Crist Creates Task Force to Prevent Home Foreclosure
February 20, 2008
TALLAHASSEE – Governor Charlie Crist today created the Florida Home
Ownership Promotes the Economy (HOPE) Task Force by Executive Order 08-27
to develop an action plan to address Florida’s escalating foreclosure rate.
The Florida HOPE Task Force will bring together experts in the mortgage
and banking industries, as well as consumer advocates and policy experts,
to review Florida’s foreclosure rate and its impact on Florida’s economy.
