At Your Service
Your FAMB Staff, working for you…
The greatest majority of our members do not know the people who do all of the tasks that keep our Association running. These are the voices on the other end of the phone line or the names on the emails from FAMB.org. We want to take this opportunity to introduce them to you and tell you some of what they do for you.
Executive Director; Frank Cicione, CMC, CRMS. Frank has been a member of the Association since 1987 and accepted the position of Executive Director in February of 2007. He is both a licensed mortgage broker and real estate broker and served the Association as its president in 1999/2000. It was during his tenure as president that the Association undertook the task of drafting the legislation to require mandatory continuing education for brokers and originators. Frank is tasked with the long and short-range oversight of the Association’s operations, the operation and staffing of the FAMB’s headquarters and is responsible for the Association’s funds and budgetary performance. As well as ensuring that the Association’s work gets done, he also participates in the daily tasks in a hands on manner as a part of the Tallahassee team. He regularly attends legislative sessions, testifies before legislative committees, interacts directly with the Office of Financial Regulation and the Office of the Attorney General, FAMB’s legal counsel and lobbyist and is an FAMB/NAMB nationally certified instructor and course writer. He is the primary contact person for both licensees and consumers that contact the Association with questions or issues. Frank works closely with and reports directly to our Executive Committee on all matters that affect the Association.

Chief Operations Officer; Melissa Grosvenor. A Tallahassee native and FSU graduate, Melissa has been an integral part of the Tallahassee FAMB team since 2004. Her passion is photography and after her graduation from school she spent several years in South Florida doing motion picture film work. Melissa, in her role of COO, is second in command at headquarters and fulfills a myriad of tasks for the Association. Not only does she monitor and participate as a team member and leader in the headquarters’ daily activities, she serves on the FAMB Foundation as its treasurer. She is intensely involved in the behind the scenes work of producing FAMB’s annual convention and trade show, quarterly meetings, officers training and special educational events. As COO, she oversees the Association’s books and the reporting of federal and state PAC statements. She is an important source of input regarding the operation of the Association. She is a true team player and there is no task she will not undertake for the good of the Association. Melissa brings a great sense of humor to the office as well as an intense work ethic that reflects well on the entire staff.

Director of Conventions and Meetings; Cindy Gramling. A Tallahassee area native and FSU graduate, Cindy is an avid horsewoman and barrel racer. Cindy, an FAMB team member since 1996, brings a wealth of experience to the Association through her background and connections in the hospitality industry. She is the person charged with finding and working out the arrangements for the venues for all of the Association’s meetings and functions. A sampling of her tasks include; price and cost management, guest room and meeting space allocation blocks, food and beverage requirements and cost control, contract negotiations, preliminary budget and cost comparisons, décor, transportation needs, acting as the Association’s on-site liaison with hotel and convention staffs and ultimately, the final checking of bills submitted to the Association from venues for accuracy. Cindy is the person behind the curtain who makes sure that our events come off flawlessly and seamlessly. Because of the size of the groups we bring to various areas, she is already working our meeting plans for 2013.

Web Site and Technology Administrator; Brad Mitchell. A Tallahassee area native and proficient kick boxer, Brad joined the FAMB on a part-time basis in 2003 while earning his degree at FSU in graphic arts. Upon graduation, he became a full time staff member in 2007 and is a vital part of the Tallahassee team. He has a great understanding of our entire computer and communication systems and among other things has taken on the important tasks of maintaining our web site, the maintenance of our servers, database, software, desktops and our varied peripheral devices; thus greatly reducing the need to outsource maintenance. His skills as a graphic artist have allowed us to completely eliminate the outsourcing of our artistic needs. He now designs all of the FAMB literature, artwork, ads, promotional pieces and publications we produce. This year Brad created all of the artwork and graphic work for the annual convention promotional book that was sent to potential exhibitors, the promotional book that was sent to potential attendees and the final convention book that was provided to all of the attendees at the convention. Brad is the “go to” person in the office for all things technical or needing muscle.

Membership Director; Amber Greene. Amber, a mother of a three year old boy, loves fishing, bowling and spending weekends in her pop-up camper with her family. She became part of the FAMB team in 2007 as a combination receptionist and all purpose staff member. When the membership position opened she leaped at the opportunity to fill the job. She became proficient with our membership database software quickly. Amber processes new memberships and renewals into our database which includes the necessary data entry and the posting of funds received by check, by credit card via fax, and online through the Association’s credit card system. She is also responsible for maintaining the integrity of member data within our system and the tracking and collection of past due funds that are due to the automatic debit payment membership renewal system. She prepares all of the invoices for membership and PAC renewals, generates all of the various membership and aging reports used by the Association and the Chapters and makes retention calls to members on the verge of having their memberships terminated to encourage them to complete their renewal. She prepares new member and renewal member packets, and maintains the various Association committee books.

Our Association staff of five is small in comparison to other staffs that service a comparable number of members at a consistently high level of service. When the phone rings, all hands reach out to answer. As with any small office, many of the employee tasks overlap and some are so automatic that they defy addition as a “duty”. The tasks described above are but a small portion of what your Tallahassee team does as part of their jobs. We are fortunate; our staffers never say “that’s not my job”. No matter what needs to be handled, the team members step up and get it done. After all, it’s their Association too.
