Shop and Compare Homeowner's Insurance Rates

http://www.shopandcomparerates.com

"Shop and Compare Rates," is a web site that assists consumers comparing homeowner's insurance rates throughout Florida. The site is a valuable tool that serves as a starting point to help Floridians find the insurance policy best suited to their needs. By clicking on each county, a consumer will see a pop-up window with a representative sample of companies and rates for insuring a typical Florida home. The list of insurers is sorted from the lowest to the highest cost and provides a link to the company's contact information.

The My Safe Florida Home Program

http://www.mysafefloridahome.com

To help Floridians identify how they can strengthen their homes against hurricanes and to reduce hurricane damage exposure in our state, the My Safe Florida Home program is offering free wind inspections by qualified hurricane mitigation inspectors to eligible homeowners.

Properties not eligible for free wind inspections include mobile homes and manufactured homes, apartments, condominiums, multi-family dwellings and businesses.

The My Safe Florida Home program is a first-come, first-served program. At the rate at which homeowners are applying for grants, it is estimated that the My Safe Florida Home program may stop taking grant applications by May 1, 2008. Remaining funds will be used to meet the program’s statutory goal of 400,000 inspections.
